Your Privacy at Uplift Therapy: What we collect, how we use it, and your rights
What information do we collect?
We collect some personal information about you and your child so we can provide the best possible support. This includes:
• Your name, address, phone number and email
• Information about the people close to you, such as parents, carers and family members
• Details about your child's needs and the supports we provide
• Health and therapy information needed to plan and deliver care
Why do we collect this information?
We use this information to:
• Understand your child’s needs and design supports that suit them
• Keep records of the therapy and services we provide
• Check that our services are working well for your family
• Meet our professional and legal obligations as an NDIS provider
Where is your information stored?
All information is stored securely in our client management system (Splose). Only authorised Uplift Therapy staff can access your information.
Who do we share your information with?
We only share your information in very specific situations:
• With your permission – for example, sharing reports with your child’s school or other providers
• When we are required to by law or to keep your child safe
• With the NDIS or other government organisations when required
You can say “No” if you do not want us to share your information. We will always ask your permission first wherever we can.
Your rights
You have the right to:
• See a copy of the information we hold about you and your child
• Ask us to correct any information that is wrong or incomplete
• Object to information you believe is inaccurate
• Ask us to limit how we use your information where the law allows

How we use technology and AI
We use some technology tools to help us work efficiently and give your child better care. This includes:
• Transcription tools – to help write session notes so your therapist can stay focused on your child during appointments
• Automated administration – to reduce paperwork and improve our processes
• Data tools – to help track progress and plan supports
All technology we use follows the same strict privacy rules as the rest of our practice. Your information is never shared with external services without proper privacy protections in place.
You can always ask us about the technology we use. If you would prefer that AI tools are not used during your child’s sessions, please let your therapist or our Practice Manager know.

How we keep your information safe?
We follow Australian and Victorian privacy laws to keep your information safe, including:
• The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles
• The Health Records Act 2001 (Vic)
• The Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic)
Australian privacy laws were updated in December 2024. These changes give you stronger rights and give us stronger responsibilities to protect your information securely.
