FAMILY SUPPORT
Initial assessments
Each family has two initial appointments prior to starting intervention with our team- a child-focussed session and a parent/carer session.
The child-focussed session helps your child to start to develop a positive relationship with their therapist, and for the therapist to get to know your child's strengths, interests and functional needs in a gentle and non-intrusive way.
The parent/carer session is an opportunity for you to tell us all about your child. We want to hear about all the wonderful things they can do! We also want to know about what is tricky for you and your child, and that is best done without your child present. You can be open with us, and tell us your story. By the end of this session, as a team you and your therapist develop a therapy plan that best fits your child and family.
Services provided
We provide a collaborative team-based intervention that can include:

Therapy Assistant support
We also have strong working relationships with physiotherapists and psychologists in the local area, who we absolutely work in partnership with, so can help you get all the therapy support you could possibly need.
Where?
We provide a relaxed professional therapy service in the environment that it's most needed for your child. This might be at home, childcare, kindergarten, school, or in Uplift's unique indoor and outdoor therapy space in the centre of town. We also love to help our young people achieve confidence and independence in the community, so you will frequently see us head out to the shops and local cafes as part of the therapeutic journey.
